History

 Sree Devi Kumari Women’s College, founded in 1965, is run by the Kanyakumari District Temple in Suchindrum, and is funded by the HR & CE Department of the Tamil Nadu government. The college, which is named after Kanyakumari’s virgin goddess, was established to provide university-mandated education as well as to develop ethical and cultural values in students.The college is located near Kuzhithurai, 32 kilometers from Nagercoil, the district headquarters, and 35 kilometers from Trivandrum, the state capital of Kerala.

It was first associated with Madras University, then with Madurai Kamaraj University, and finally with Manonmanium Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli.SDKWC began its educational journey in 1965 with a noble mission to the women of the Kuzhithurai neighborhood in a pious and serene atmosphere of competence, empathy, and devotion. It educates the community about the issues of contemporary sociocultural, political, and technical developments by providing appropriate education.
